CORMAK TORNADO 460x1500 is a robust conventional universal lathe designed for a wide range of precision metalworking tasks. With a large distance between centres of 1500mm and an ø82mm spindle bore, the lathe is ideally suited for machining long shafts, pipes and larger workpieces. Construction and technology

The lathe has been designed for many years of intensive operation. The machine, weighing 2445kg, is built on a heavy monolithic cast-iron bed, providing high rigidity and resistance to deformation. Precision guideways, accurately machined carriage components and a reliable 5.5kW spindle drive ensure accuracy even during many hours of operation with large workpieces. Work lighting and the coolant system improve operator comfort.

Precision and efficiency

Thanks to the digital readout and precisely calibrated guideways, the operator has full control over the turning process. The wide spindle speed range (25–2000rpm) allows optimum cutting parameters to be selected for different materials. A turning length of up to 1500mm provides full flexibility in selecting production tasks.
