Cordless Handheld Electric Strapping Tool CORMAK JDSA for PP and PET Strapping
Cordless strapping tool CORMAK JDSA streamlines the securing of parcels, grouped packages and palletised loads using polypropylene PP and polyester PET strapping.
The tool supports strapping from 13 to 16mm wide and from 0.4 to 1.2mm thick. Adjustable tensioning force from 900–3,200N allows the operating parameters to be matched to the type of strap, the product being secured and the required load stability.
The 14.4V, 4Ah Li-Ion battery enables approximately 250–350 strapping cycles per charge. The number of cycles depends on the selected tensioning force, the type of strap used and the operating conditions.
The ergonomically shaped handle provides a secure grip and makes the tool easier to guide during strap tensioning, friction welding and cutting.
CORMAK JDSA cordless electric hand strapping tool for 13–16 mm PP and PET strapping
The CORMAK JDSA is a portable electric strapping tool designed for securing parcels, cartons, bulk packaging and palletised loads. The machine is compatible with polypropylene (PP) and polyester (PET) strapping with a width of 13 to 16 mm and a thickness of 0.4 to 1.2 mm.
The JDSA model is a battery-powered, hand-held strapping tool which the operator positions directly on the strap. The machine tensions the strap, joins the ends using friction welding, and then cuts off the excess material. The strapping process does not require the use of additional metal or plastic clips.
The battery power supply allows for cordless operation and enables the operator to move freely amongst the products being packed. The ergonomically contoured handle improves grip and makes it easier to control the machine during successive strapping cycles.
This strapping machine for PP and PET strapping is ideal both for securing individual parcels and for the batch preparation of goods for storage and transport.
Benefits of purchasing the JDSA strapping machine
- faster preparation of a larger number of parcels, cartons and loads thanks to efficient tensioning and short sealing times,
- reduced manual labour – the machine tensions, seals and cuts the strap,
- joining the tape without the need for metal or plastic clips,
- ability to adjust the tension to suit the type of packaging and the load being secured,
- versatile use thanks to compatibility with PP and PET straps of various widths and thicknesses,
- freedom of movement around the load thanks to battery power,
- capable of performing approximately 250–350 strapping cycles on a single battery charge,
- less strain on the hands and arms and more comfortable operation thanks to the ergonomic handle,
- aesthetically pleasing and consistent securing of parcels, cartons and palletised loads.
Adjusting the tension force to suit the type of load
Tension force adjustment within a range of 900 to 3200 N allows the tension to be tailored to the type of product being secured. The device combines the functions of a strapping tensioner, a friction sealer and a cutting mechanism.
Lower values can be used for cartons and packaging prone to deformation. Higher values allow for greater tension when securing heavier and more robust loads.
A suitably selected tension force helps to stabilise goods and limit their movement during handling, storage and transport.
Compatibility with PP and PET straps
The CORMAK JDSA strapping machine is compatible with both PP and PET straps, allowing the material to be selected according to the type of packaging, the weight of the load and the required level of security.
PP straps are particularly suitable for lighter parcels, cartons and bulk packaging. PET straps can be used for heavier loads requiring greater strength.
Straps must be used with a width and thickness in accordance with the machine’s specifications.
Tensioning and friction sealing of the strap
A tensioning speed of between 100 and 200 mm/s streamlines the securing of successive parcels and loads.
Once the correct tension has been achieved, the operator initiates the friction sealing process. The ends of the strap are permanently joined, and any excess is cut off by the machine.
The approximate sealing time is between 2 and 5 seconds and may depend on the machine’s settings and the type of strap used. The process does not require the use of additional metal or plastic clips.
Ergonomic handle and comfortable operation
The ergonomically contoured handle fits comfortably in the hand, ensuring a secure grip on the strapping tool whilst tensioning, sealing and cutting the strap. The appropriate shape of the grip facilitates control of the machine and reduces strain on the hand during successive strapping cycles.
The compact design allows the strapping tool to be carried conveniently between packing stations.
Battery-powered operation
The strapping tool is powered by a 14.4 V Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 4 Ah. A single charge allows for approximately 250–350 strapping cycles.
Actual performance depends, amongst other things, on:
- the set tension,
- the type and thickness of the strap,
- the sealing parameters,
- temperature and operating conditions,
- the battery’s state of charge.
It takes approximately 90 minutes to fully charge the battery. The absence of a power cable makes it easier to handle larger products and palletised loads, which would otherwise be difficult to move to a fixed packing station.
Applications
The CORMAK JDSA battery-powered strapping machine is ideal for securing:
- cardboard boxes and parcels,
- bulk packaging,
- goods arranged on pallets,
- wooden and joinery items,
- building materials,
- parts and components,
- industrial products,
- loads being prepared for storage and transport.
Its portable design means the machine can be used as a mobile pallet strapping machine, which the operator moves directly to the next loads to be secured.
The machine can be used in warehouses, production facilities, wholesale centres, logistics centres, and packing and dispatch departments. Electric strapping machines of this type reduce the effort involved in manually tensioning the strap and streamline repetitive packing operations.
